Editorial draft — review required

Read a source before drawing a conclusion

An editorial exercise in author, date, audience and translation.

What is known

The Khalidi Library founding announcement is an example of a source that can be studied through author, purpose and audience.

Sources

Start with author, date, audience, language and edition. Add a stable reference for each material claim.

Analysis

Check details against additional sources and describe limitations. Show translated text with the original and translation metadata.

What is missing

Separate documented fact, analysis and draft. Locally generated translations and summaries require editorial review.

MDX / Editorial exercise

Reading a source / קריאה במקור / قراءة المصدر

This is an editorial exercise, not an original publication by Moshe Levi.

Author / מחבר / المؤلف

Who made the document, and what role did they hold? A primary source should be read alongside its purpose and audience.

Context / הקשר / السياق

Record the date, publication setting and edition. A translated excerpt should preserve the original language and identify the translator.

Evidence / עדות / الدليل

Separate a statement in the document from a later interpretation. Record a page or stable link for each claim.

Review / סקירה / المراجعة

An editor checks quotations, translation and licensing before changing a draft to published.
